The history of our company began more than 150 years ago. Back then, in the middle of the 19th century, Michael Schmitt opened a blacksmith in the southwestern Palatinate community of Weselberg. Over time, the small business transformed into a true hidden champion, combining engineering skills, innovation and a high level of technical understanding. To this day, Reiner Schmitt GmbH is an owner-managed family business that can now look back on more than 50 years of experience in the field of distillation technology.
The focus of our company is on the development as well as design, manufacture and assembly of plants and apparatus. On a production area of more than 3,000 sqm, we manufacture complete ready-to-use solutions in the field of burner technology together with our highly qualified employees.
With the help of our decades of technical expertise, we develop concepts for distilleries according to the required specifications and work together with numerous renowned partners and customers.

Another focus is on the hygienization of substrates for biogas production.

Our company history: More than 150 years of tradition

1860: Michael Schmitt founds a blacksmith shop
1890 / 1897: Blacksmith shop is continued by master farrier Rudolf Schmitt
1933: Master blacksmith and wagon maker Eugen Schmitt continues the blacksmith shop
1952: Eugen Schmitt starts the production of distillery components and steam boilers
1976 / 1977: Takeover and change of name to Eugen Schmitt GmbH Dampfkessel und Brennereitechnik by graduate engineer Reiner Schmitt
2005 / 2006: Change of name to Reiner Schmitt GmbH Brennereitechnik with the managing directors Reiner Schmitt and Anton Lutz
2012: Start of production of our pilot distillation plant EthaTec
2023: Reiner Schmitt GmbH Brennereitechnik joins the TARVO Group

Modern production facility

With the new halls in the Weselberg industrial park, which we moved into in 2007, we have the optimal production facility for our products.
Here we can manufacture tanks and apparatus from large to small. If there is not enough space, we are flexible and move to the production in front of the hall or directly to the customer on the construction site!
